Mr Amir Khawaja is a prominent businessman based in Manchester running several companies whilst finding the time to serve the community and further the interests of bilateral trade with Pakistan. Mr Khuwaja founded Amir Clothing – Several Wholesale units serving a plethora of independent shops and online retailers supplying the latest in fashion from the UK, and Italy. Amir works directly with designers and manufactures to create bespoke styles to ensure his range remains fresh. For knitted garments, Amir has his own factory which produces unique designs that are patent protected. All businesses are being operated with dedication and the utmost integrity. Amir has a longstanding association with the MQI due to the extensive social work done by him and his family. In 2018 he was elected as President of MQI Manchester and the chapter has seen a phenomenal increase in activity since his appointment.
The Khawaja family have been serving the Rehmania Masjid in Karachi for several decades. The masjid is also a centre for learning where hundreds of children receive free education. Amir is currently the Vice Chairman for the Trust overseeing all activities and ensuring it continues to work for the community. Mr Amir also has deep links to the trade and commercial sectors, and was instrumental in re-establishing the Manchester Chapter through his strong links in UK business, international Chambers and the Pakistan Government. In June 2018 Amir was appointed to several Standing Committees of the FPCCI (The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry) including, Corporate Relations, Diplomatic Affairs and China – Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
With a business degree and experience in working in a number of industries across various sectors including education, healthcare, marketing and social development projects – Fariha has worked in the private sector, public sector and non-governmental organisations including United Nations Office of Drug Control and UK Department of Health. She is currently teaching Business and Economics at higher education institutes across London.
